MQ-5 Liquefied Gas (LPG) Gas Sensor
The MQ-5 gas sensor uses tin oxide (SnO2) as its sensing material, which has low conductivity in clean air. When combustible gases are present in the environment, the conductivity of the sensor increases in proportion to the concentration of these gases. A simple circuit can convert this change in conductivity into an output signal corresponding to the gas concentration. The MQ-5 sensor is highly sensitive to gases like butane, propane, and methane, making it effective for detecting a wide range of combustible gases, especially natural gas. It is a low-cost sensor suitable for various applications.
