MQ-8 Hydrogen Gas Sensor
The MQ-8 gas sensor uses tin oxide (SnO2) as its sensitive material, which has low conductivity in clean air. When hydrogen gas is present in the environment, the sensor’s conductivity increases in proportion to the concentration of hydrogen gas in the air. This change in conductivity is converted into an output signal corresponding to the gas concentration. The MQ-8 sensor is highly sensitive to hydrogen gas and effectively suppresses interference from other gases. It can detect various hydrogen-containing gases, particularly city gas, making it a versatile and low-cost sensor suitable for a range of applications, such as safety monitoring in industrial and residential settings.
