Install VirtualBox

Double click and run VirtualBox-7.0.14-161095-Win.exe：

Select I Accept and click Next

Here, you can customize your installation location. Since my C drive is larger, I will install it to the C drive by default.

Click Finish, because we checked Run after installation, it will automatically open the software after clicking Finish

Otherwise you can find VirtualBox under Start and run it

Creating the Virtual Machine

Choose a name for your virtual machine using English characters, and make sure to save it in a location with ample space. For compiling the Taishan RK3566 Android + Linux, at least 400GB of space is required.

I chose the F drive and created a new folder named VirtualBoxVm to save it.

Choose the memory and processors. It's recommended to allocate the maximum amount of memory, the more the better.

Create a virtual hard disk. Since we need to store the LCSC Taishan-RK3566-Linux Dev Board SDK, I chose 500GB to avoid running out of space later. Then, click Next.

Wait for the download to complete.

Install Ubuntu

Click on the virtual machine and then click Settings

In the settings window, go to "Storage," select "No disk," and then select the virtual disk with the Ubuntu ISO we downloaded earlier, ubuntu-18.04.6-desktop-amd64.iso.

Select the ubuntu-18.04.6-desktop-amd64.iso file.

Click Yes

Network Settings:

To ensure Ubuntu can connect to the internet and ping Windows, we will configure two network adapters. Adapter 1 will be used for external network access. (Note: this method was later abandoned because I initially thought the issue was with the bridged network mode, but I later realized it was due to network restrictions imposed by my company. In practice, I found that one of the adapters often dropped.)

Use the bridged network adapter, which connects your virtual machine (VM) directly to your physical network. When configured this way, the VM will receive its own unique IP address, as if it were another physical machine on the network. Using the bridged adapter, you should be able to ping Baidu, and ping between the Windows 10 host and the Ubuntu VM. Resolving Copy and Paste Issues between Windows and Virtual Machine

Set the shared clipboard to "Bidirectional"

Select "Install Guest Additions." Run the installer. Enter your password. Close the window after installation is complete. Restart to apply the changes.
